The venue occupies a converted 330 m² furniture storage warehouse transformed into a two-storey gallery and creative hub. It takes its name from the historic Pongpong Bridge, which once spanned the Gwangcheon River between the textile factory and the residential district, connecting these two important points in the area's industrial past.

108 Steps
The 108-step staircase forms the main vertical link connecting Balsan village's lower and upper reaches, making it one of Gwangju's most distinctive landmarks. The steps are adorned with vibrant murals and inspirational messages aimed at young people, part of a colourful public art project that revitalised the entire neighbourhood. What to see here offers insight into the area's creative transformation.
