The centre cost approximately €10.6 million to develop, funded through government investment and contributions from An Post. Visit to explore Ireland's pivotal revolutionary period through immersive exhibits within this historic building.

Ionic Portico with Statues of John Smyth
The GPO's Ionic portico is an imposing Portland stone structure, 24.4 metres wide and supported by six fluted columns, each 137.16 centimetres in diameter. Crowning the pediment are three sculptural figures by John Smyth representing Mercury, Fidelity and Hibernia. This ensemble carries considerable symbolic and artistic significance, making it one of Dublin's most important neoclassical features to visit.
