Cristo Yacente (Cristo de la Cama)

Cristo Yacente (Cristo de la Cama)

Cristo Yacente, commonly known as Cristo de la Cama, is the focal point of the Cofradía del Santo Entierro and the centrepiece of the ermita del Santo Sepulcro in Socovos. This recumbent figure of Christ was carved by Molina-born artist Bernabé Gil Riquelme. The sculpture serves as the processional image for the Holy Burial Brotherhood and remains an important example of religious iconography in the region.

2
Image of Solitude

Image of Solitude

The Imagen de la Soledad is a wooden devotional sculpture housed in the intimate chapel of the Santo Sepulcro in Socovos. Created by sculptor Bernabé Gil Riquelme from Molina de Segura, it shares its sanctuary with his Cristo Yacente, a recumbent Christ figure also carved by the same artist. The sculpture is used in local religious processions and represents an important example of Spanish religious woodcarving craftsmanship.

3
Espadaña

Espadaña

The bell gable crowns the solid brick façade of this hermitage in Socovos, rising distinctly above the section dedicated to the Santo Sepulcro chapel. This vertical element visually distinguishes the sacred space from the adjoining area, which once served as the brotherhood's headquarters. The espadaña's simple design is characteristic of rural Castilian religious architecture, reflecting the modest yet dignified aesthetic of 18th-century hermitages in this region.
