Un sitio imprescindible si visitas Santillana, Helena, la guia, te cuenta la historia de la torre de forma super amena y entretenida. El edificio por dentro es maravilloso y los libros, cuadros, esculturas y mobiliario son un lujo. Muy, muy recomendable y es gratis!

Sobre la torre se extrae este texto “La Torre de don Borja es un edificio situado en la antigua plaza del mercado del casco histórico de Santillana del Mar, declarado todo él como Bien de Interés Cultural. De probable origen medieval, la construcción actual data del siglo XV. Su nombre se debe a don Borja Barreda, titular del mayorazgo en 1844.. Históricamente ha recibido los sobrenombres de Torre de don Borja-Bracho, la Torrona y de la Infanta”. Fue restaurada en 1981 para convertirse en sede de la Fundación Santillana. Aparte de los jardines la mayoría de exposiciones y actos culturales de la localidad se celebran en este lugar.
