Bastione San Giorgio
San Giorgio Bastion occupies the north-west corner of the Cittadella Vecchia's fortified walls and is one of the most distinctive defensive structures within the complex. Currently undergoing restoration, it will eventually serve as a new entrance to the Cittadella's urban park, with a multipurpose hall housed inside. When complete, this historical stronghold will offer visitors direct access to the site's green spaces and cultural facilities.
Republican Arsenals
The Arsenales Republicanos is the sole surviving structure from Pisa's medieval naval shipyard, where the Pisan Republic once built and repaired galleys. After decades of deterioration, the building underwent comprehensive restoration in 2015. Today, it functions as a contemporary cultural venue hosting exhibitions, conferences and public performances, breathing new life into this important maritime heritage site.
