Casa Vanni
Casa Vanni is a 14th-century palazzo situated between Borgo Stretto and Via Notari in Pisa, facing the house of Vincenzo Galilei near number 21. Along with the Loggia Tobler, it represents the finest surviving example of Trecento architectural fashion, characterised by decorative loggias and multi-light windows that adorned buildings of the period.

The Tabernacle of the Madonna dei Vetturini marks the entrance to the Borgo Stretto arcades with a replica of a medieval sculpture depicting the Virgin and Child. The original 14th-century work has been housed in the Museo di San Mateo since 1982. The tabernacle itself, dating from the 16th century, is constructed from wood and crowns the archway at the start of the Borgo, serving as a notable landmark where visitors can observe this faithful reproduction of the medieval piece.
Galileo Galilei Statue in Largo Ciro Menotti
Standing in Largo Ciro Menotti, within Borgo Stretto, this bronze statue of Galileo Galilei has occupied the square since March 2020. Cast by the Fonderia Artistica Versiliese in Pietrasanta under Massimiliano Simoni's direction, the 2.6-metre figure weighs 350 kilograms and rests on a Carrara marble plinth. Donated to Pisa by Gabriele Vicari and Armando Barbon, the work depicts the scientist in contemplative pose, telescope in his left hand and globe in his right, gaze turned skyward. Since its installation, the statue has sparked considerable discussion among locals and visitors alike, with criticism levelled at both its placement and the minimal information provided alongside it.
Casino of the Nobles
The Casino dei Nobili is an 18th-century palazzo in Pisa, located on via Notari with frontages onto Piazza Garibaldi and Borgo Stretto. Built as an exclusive club for the Pisan aristocracy, this three-storey building incorporates earlier structures, including an 11th-century tower whose remains are still visible on the left flank. What to see here offers a glimpse into the city's medieval and early modern heritage.
Loggia Tobler
The Loggia Tobler, also known as Palazzo Scorzi Tobler, stands at number 41 Borgo Largo (now Via Oberdan) and is among the finest buildings on this historic street. Built in the 14th century, it displays notable Gothic craftsmanship with its stone and marble facing. The refined architectural details make it worth a visit when exploring Pisa's medieval heritage.
