Caffè dell'Ussero
Caffè dell'Ussero, opened on 1 September 1775 on the ground floor of Palazzo Agostini, is Italy's third oldest café, after Florian in Venice (1720) and Greco in Rome (1760). Its walls display mementos from the notable figures who have visited over more than two centuries. Recognised as one of Italy's historic establishments, it remains the meeting place of the National Academy of the Ussero.

Cinema Lumière
Cinema Lumière is Italy's oldest continuously operating cinema, housed within the rear of Palazzo Agostini, accessed via Vicolo dei Tidi in Pisa. Screenings began in 1899 from a billiards room at Caffè dell'Ussero before the cinema relocated and was restructured in 1905 to its present site at the back of the palazzo. The space occupies buildings that originally formed part of the medieval church of Sant'Ilario in Porta Aurea. What to see here is a significant piece of Italian cinema heritage.

Citrus Rooftop Garden
The Giardino pensile di agrumi is a hanging garden situated behind Palazzo Agostini in Pisa. Documented since the 15th century as an integral part of the palace complex, this remarkable garden had fallen into disrepair over the centuries. It was carefully restored to its original state several years ago, offering visitors a glimpse of Renaissance horticultural design and the citrus cultivation that once flourished here.

Gothic Façade with Terracotta Decoration
Palazzo Agostini showcases a striking Gothic façade entirely clad in reddish terracotta moulding. The ornamental scheme combines botanical motifs, human heads and heraldic designs across the exterior. Twin and triple arched windows with delicate marble columns establish a rhythmic pattern down the façade, while the uppermost level once featured an open loggia—later enclosed. This exceptional terracotta work remains one of Pisa's finest examples of Gothic decorative architecture what to see in the city centre.
