What you'll hear inside Garnier Opera:
- 1Grand Staircase of Honour
The Grand Staircase at the Palais Garnier is a magnificent sweep of white marble accented with onyx balustrades and gilt decoration.
- 2Gran Foyer
The Gran Foyer is a spectacular gallery modelled on the Palace of Versailles, featuring ornate mirrors, paintings by Paul Baudry, and twenty allegorical statues.
- 3Sala de Espectáculos
A horseshoe-shaped auditorium seating 2,000 spectators, renowned for its striking Chagall ceiling and elaborate crystal chandelier.
- 4Foyer of the Mosaics
The foyer at Foyer de las Mosaicas is a striking entrance hall entirely decorated with golden-background mosaics beneath a barrel-vaulted ceiling.
- 5Rotonda Glacier
The Rotonda del Glacier is a bright, elegant space within what is likely a Parisian landmark.
- 6Hall of the Moon and the Sun
Two modest rotundas with contrasting décor: one adorned in cool silver tones, the other in warm gold.
- 7Rotunda of the Subscribers
The Rotonda de los Abonados is a circular vestibule featuring a marble fountain depicting the Pitian spring.
- 8Opera Museum and Library
Located within the Palais Garnier, the Library-Museum of the Ópera preserves the rich history of opera through an extensive collection of original documents, architectural models and artefacts.
- 9Emperor's Pavilion
The Emperor's Pavilion features a distinctive western side entrance with a covered double ramp, originally engineered for the secure access of Napoleon III.
