La falta de tiempo me impidió visitar la parte soterrada. Algo que me prometo hacer en mi próxima visita. Una escala de crucero solo permite algunas horas y aunque he visitado Nápoles en varias ocasiones, siempre me quedan cosas pendientes y ésta será una de ellas y poder visitarla completa y no tan parcialmente y con prisas. Lo poco que vi en muy recomendable. Además es visita gratuita.
Basílica de estilo gótico francés con fachada barroca. Destaca el ábside con bóvedas de crucería, el deambulatorio con nueve capillas y el altar mayor. Bajo ella se encuentran los restos del antiguo mercado grecorromano (se visita de forma guiada y hay que comprar entrada).
Magnífica basílica que esconde a 10 metros de profundidad parte de la Neópolis soterrada. Una visita apasionante. La parte soterrada no es posible para personas con problemas de movilidad o claustrofobia
