What you'll hear inside Church of San Lorenzo:
- 1Chapel of the Holy Christ of the Well
A funeral chapel in Úbeda that served as the architectural template for the church's other lateral chapels, demonstrating the Renaissance influence of Vandelvira.
- 2Chapel of the High Altar
The burial chapel of the Dávalos family, distinguished by its impressive Baroque dome.
- 3Romanesque Apse
This Romanesque apse, which dates from the late Romanesque or Alfonsine period, formed the eastern end of the original cathedral.
- 4Polychrome Ceiling of the Choir
A striking wooden choir screen adorned in the Mudéjar style, its polychrome surface displays heraldic symbols, religious imagery and Arabic inscriptions.
- 5Gothic-Mudéjar Arch of the Antesacristy
A Gothic-Mudéjar architectural arch in Úbeda that lay hidden behind walls for centuries before being revealed during archaeological excavations.
- 6Renaissance Main Portal
This Renaissance gateway was built in 1586 and is attributed to stonemason Francisco de Herrera, working under the influence of architect Andrés de Vandelvira.
