Un lugar de visita obligatoria si viajas a Toledo. Se ve imponente desde los miradores, apabullante de cerca e impresionante desde dentro. Es muy alta, sobrecogedora. Tiene gran cantidad de obras de arte y una arquitectura muy curiosa. Recomiendo no irte de Toledo sin entrar a verla. Hay una reliquia en la capilla de la descension si mal no recuerdo que es una piedra en la que la virgen María puso los pies según cuenta la leyenda.
Admito que he quedado impactado con el tamaño de esta catedral. Su altura es impresionante y más aún su fachada, es hermosa. Hay que tener en cuenta que las imágenes que subo puede que tengan un poco de tinte navideño porque estaban las galerías comerciales pero no deja de ser una postal espectacular. Me quedo con el recuerdo de estar escuchando a un toledano tocar el violín mientras veía la catedral de fondo completamente emocionado. No me gustaría hablar mucho sobre su historia dado que no la he estudiado y hay muchas personas que seguramente hablarán de eso, solo quiero contar mi experiencia.
Esta hermosísima Catedral, es uno de los templos góticos más importantes de toda España. Comenzando su construcción en el siglo XIII sobre una antigua mezquita, combina elementos góticos (arcos, contrafuertes, arbotantes, etc) como mudéjares y renacentistas. Destacan su imponente fachada, el retablo mayor, la sacristía con obras de grandes pintores y su torre de 92 metros. El gupí nos contó que el punto más alto de la ciudad tiene 93mts, por eso tiene un metros menos, ya que "nade herho por el hombre puede superar la obra de Dios". Es un símbolo del esplendor religioso y artístico de Toledo!
