La Mezquita del Cristo de la Luz es el monumento más antiguo en pie de Toledo. Este pequeño edificio es rico en historia y arte, ofreciendo alguna semejanzas con la gran mezquita de Córdoba. Entá incluída en la pulsera turística y te recomiendo que compres la audioguía (vale sólo 1€) y disfrutarás mucho más de la visita. La pequeña mezquita (era sólo para los musulmanes ricos) es bellísima y tiene un abside añadido para convertirla en iglesia católica. Los jardines son hermosos y las vistas desde el mirador merecen la pena. Busca en Google la leyenda del Cristo de la Luz. Muy cerca está la puerta de Valmorón y la puerta Del Sol.

Un lugar mágico cargado de espiritualidad y paz envuelto en un edificio que arquitectónicamente ha ido fusionando cada etapa de la historia de Toledo en sus ladrillos, y adaptando, acogiendo y fusionando las religiones, estructuras sociales y de poder que la ciudad ha experimentado. La basílica/mezquita/templo está ubicado sobre una calzada romana y rodeado por unos sublimes jardines altos en cuyo centro una fuente marca el paso del tiempo con el sonido del agua y desde el cual las vistas de Toledo son impresionantes. El interior es un espacio, a mi parecer precioso, que acoge la original mezquita árabe, la cual utiliza restos visigodos anteriores, incluso columnas romanas. Junto y separada solo por un par de escalones la capilla Cristiana con restos de frescos y la cruz del Cristo de la luz, cuya leyenda está ligada a la historia de Toledo.

Pequeñita pero preciosa y el jardín muy bonito también, merece la visita. Es un lugar tranquilo donde se puede descansar del ajetreo de los otros monumentos de Toledo. Está incluida dentro de la pulsera.
