Samsung Children's Education and Culture Centre (Rem Koolhaas)
The Samsung Centre for Children's Education and Culture is the third building within the Leeum complex in Seoul, designed by Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas. Its striking black concrete structure appears to float, creating a distinctly futuristic aesthetic. The centre functions as a vital link between the complex's two main museums, connected via ramps and corridors. What to see here includes interactive workshops, educational programmes and rotating exhibitions tailored for younger visitors. It's an architecturally significant space that bridges both the physical layout and cultural mission of the wider Leeum complex.

Goryeo Cheongja Hall – Goryeo Dynasty Celadon
The Goryeo Cheongja Hall occupies the fourth floor of Museum 1 and showcases celadon from the Goryeo Dynasty, widely regarded as one of the finest achievements in world ceramics. Upon entry, visitors encounter a dedicated space displaying tea bowls – symbols of Zen Buddhism, which helped popularise this distinctive pottery – alongside exquisite inlaid celadon pieces that define the hall's artistic character.

Buncheong and White Porcelain Hall
Located on the third floor of Leeum Museum 1, the Buncheong and White Porcelain of Joseon gallery explores the evolution of Korean ceramics from the 14th to 16th centuries through to the white porcelain that became the defining aesthetic of the Joseon dynasty. Presented under the theme 'Journey of White Light', the collection showcases how these pieces embody the neo-Confucian values of austerity and purity that shaped Joseon society for five centuries. Essential viewing for understanding Korean ceramic heritage.

Traditional Calligraphy and Painting Hall
The Hall of Calligraphy and Traditional Painting occupies the second floor of the Leeum Museum 1 and is organised around the theme 'Impressions and Tastes'. Here you'll find significant works by Korea's most celebrated artists and scholars, showcasing the best of Korean pictorial and calligraphic traditions. The collection features pieces predominantly from the Joseon period, offering what to see that represents the height of these classical art forms.

Open-Air Sculpture Garden
The Open-Air Sculpture Garden is the outdoor space of the Leeum Museum of Art, showcasing contemporary sculptural works by internationally renowned artists. Visitors can experience art in direct dialogue with both the urban and natural landscape surrounding the museum complex. It's an excellent spot to visit if you're interested in modern sculpture and want to see what's on display amongst Seoul's cityscape.
