About this place
Peine del Viento is a striking sculptural installation by Eduardo Chillida comprising three monumental steel pieces, each weighing over nine tonnes. Anchored to the rocks at the far end of Ondarreta beach in San Sebastián, these imposing forms jut dramatically into the Cantabrian Sea. The work is best visited during varied weather conditions, as wind and tide create ever-changing interactions with the sculptures. Worth seeing at different times of day for shifting light and perspective.
