Main Auditorium
The main auditorium at Oslo Opera House is a horseshoe-shaped concert hall seating approximately 1,358–1,364 guests across the stalls and three galleries. Designed with exceptional acoustics integrated into its architecture, the interior is dominated by oak, finished using traditional Norwegian shipbuilding techniques. Ammonia treatment covers the floors, walls, ceiling, balcony fronts and acoustic reflectors throughout, creating an intimate yet sonically sophisticated performance space. A remarkable example of how structural design and material choice combine to enhance what you hear.

Pae White Curtain
The main stage curtain at Oslo Opera House is a textile artwork by artist Pae White, officially known as MetaFoil. Designed to visually mimic the three-dimensional effect of crumpled aluminium foil, the multicoloured fabric reflects and refracts the vibrant hues of the auditorium's plush red velvet seats, creating a shimmering and animated visual display.

Segundo auditorio
The Second Auditorium at Oslo's Operahuset is a mid-sized venue seating up to 400 spectators, located on the western side of the building adjacent to the main auditorium. It provides a more intimate setting than the grand main hall, hosting opera performances, dance, and other theatrical productions. Part of the public-access area within the building, it offers visitors a chance to experience smaller-scale performances in the iconic opera house.

Vestibule with Olafur Eliasson Panel
The Oslo Opera House foyer features a striking installation by Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson—a perforated wall panel spanning 340 m² across the ceiling supports. Designed to evoke the appearance of melting ice, the panel is paired with an intricate lighting system that continuously shifts the visitor's perception of the space. What to see here is an immersive interplay of form and light that transforms the entrance into a dynamic artistic experience.

Walkable Roof with Artwork by Blystad, Grude and Sannes
The Oslo Opera House's walkable roof is an expansive public surface of roughly 18,000-20,000 m², clad in white Carrara marble 'La Facciata', sloping gently from the building down to fjord level. It invites visitors to walk across its distinctive surface. Norwegian artists Kristian Blystad, Kalle Grude and Jorunn Sannes shaped this unique artwork through carefully considered topographical variations, precise cuts and differentiated textures in the marble pavement, giving the roof its own artistic character and making it one of Oslo's most distinctive public spaces to visit.

Opera House Shop
Operabutikken is the official gift shop housed within Operahuset Oslo. Visitors will find a range of souvenirs and mementoes for both adults and children, including exclusive merchandise featuring bespoke illustrations commissioned for the opera house. The shop offers a curated selection of items that capture the essence of Oslo's iconic venue, making it an ideal spot to pick up a memento of your visit.
