Audio guide Roman Ruins of Cimiez in English
In this audio guide, Emily Thompson takes you through Roman Ruins of Cimiez telling the story as you walk. In your accent, no need to read signs — just let your eyes take in what's in front of you.
What you'll hear inside Roman Ruins of Cimiez:
- 1Roman Amphitheatre
Built in the 1st century AD and expanded in the 3rd century, this Roman amphitheatre in Nice once hosted gladiatorial contests.
- 2Northern Baths
The Termas del Norte in Niza were baths reserved for high-ranking magistrates, featuring a frigidarium with walls exceeding 10 metres in height, along with separate caldarium and tepidarium chambers.
- 3East Baths
The Termas del Este in Niza are men's baths that showcase a remarkably well-preserved Roman hypocaust heating system.
- 4Western Baths
Termas del Oeste is a women's bathhouse dating from the 4th-5th century AD, preserving remarkable remains of an early Christian church and baptistery from the 7th century.
- 5Early Christian Complex
The Ensemble Paléochrétien comprises the remains of a 7th-century church and baptistery, ingeniously constructed within the existing framework of the western Roman baths.
- 6Roman Roads
The remains of ancient paved streets from Cemenelum, which once formed part of the original Roman urban layout in Nice.

Google Maps reviews of this place

Ruinas fascinantes y bien conservadas.
