Valentin-Karlstadt-Musäum
A quirky museum in the Isartor towers celebrating Bavarian comic Karl Valentin and his stage partner Liesl Karlstadt, with costumes, props, photos and recordings.

Main Tower (Hauptturm)
The Isartor's centrepiece is Munich's only fully intact medieval gatehouse main tower, notable for its two large glass clock faces, one on each side of the wall.

Falkentürme (Flanking Towers)
The two flanking towers frame the Isartor's central tower, completing the original medieval gateway — a configuration no longer preserved at Munich's other old gates.

Anticlockwise Clock
The clock on the Isartor's west face runs anticlockwise, yet tells the correct time — its numerals are arranged in reverse order to match the direction of the hands.

Frescoes by Bernhard von Neher
Painted in 1835 by Bernhard von Neher, these exterior murals depict the triumphal return of Emperor Louis IV of Bavaria after his victory at the Battle of Mühldorf in 1322.
