Mojeon Stone Pagoda

The Mojeon-seoktap stone pagoda in Gyeongju is Korea's oldest surviving stone pagoda, built in 634 using interlocking black andesite blocks shaped like bricks—a technique known as 'mojeon'. Designated as Korea's National Treasure number 30, it stands 9.3 metres high on a natural stone platform. Pilares Danggan

The Pilares Danggan stand at the entrance to Bunhwangsa temple in Gyeongju—two stone pillars reaching 3.6 metres high, each resting on distinctive turtle-shaped stone bases, a feature rarely seen in structures of this type. Originally, Danggan masts, which could be fashioned from wood, metal or stone, displayed flags announcing Buddhist festivals so they'd be visible to people living at a distance. Wonhyo Memorial Stone

The Wonhyo Memorial Stone, preserved at Bunhwangsa Temple, commemorates one of Silla Dynasty's most distinguished Buddhist monks. Samnyongbyeoneojeong (Three Dragons Spring)

Samnyongbyeoneojeong, or the Spring of the Three Dragons, sits within the grounds of Bunhwangsa temple in Gyeongju. According to local legend, three protective dragons are associated with this spring, which held special significance during the Kingdom of Silla. The Korean name (삼룡변어정) directly references this ancient mythological tradition, making it a notable spot for visitors interested in the region's cultural heritage and temple history.
