Carrara Marble Rosette
The distinctive white Carrara marble rose window dominates the façade of Corniglia's Chiesa di San Pietro, positioned at its centre and dating from 1351. Richly carved, it contains a sculpted deer at its heart—the heraldic symbol of Corniglia. This intricate window is what to see when you visit this charming coastal village, showcasing the craftsmanship of medieval stonemasons.

Painting by Prospero Luxardi (Mysteries of the Rosary)
Prospero Luxardi's painting is a substantial oil canvas comprising eighteen panels depicting the Mysteries of the Rosary and the Last Judgment. It hangs beside the right-hand altar in the church dedicated to the Madonna of the Rosary. Created in the 17th century by a Corniglia-born artist who worked in Genoa, the work underwent extensive restoration lasting over six months, completed in November 2016. What to see here is a masterpiece of Ligurian religious art from the Seicento.

12th-Century Baptismal Font
The 12th-century marble baptismal font in the Church of San Pietro is one of the oldest artefacts preserved within the building. Its presence bears witness to a liturgical tradition that predates the church's Gothic reconstruction, which began in 1334. What to see here is a remarkable survivor of medieval religious practice.

Stained Glass Windows of Trento Longaretti
San Pietro church houses two striking polychrome stained-glass windows created by Trento Longaretti, a master craftsman from Bergamo who maintained his home and studio in Corniglia. These vibrant works represent some of the most recent artistic additions to the church, their rich colours making a bold statement within the baroque interior. Well worth seeing when you visit.

Polyptych of the Right Nave
This polyptych occupies the altar at the far end of the right-hand nave in San Pietro church at Corniglia. It ranks amongst the most valuable decorative elements preserved within the building. The multi-panelled altarpiece showcases religious artwork and serves as a focal point of the interior.

Pre-existing 11th-century Chapel (remains)
On the northern side of the Chiesa di San Pietro lie the remains of a small pre-existing chapel dating from the 11th century, incorporated into the new church structure begun in 1334. These fragmentary ruins represent the earliest evidence of religious activity at this site in Corniglia. What to see here are the visible stonework and architectural fragments that testify to the chapel's original form, now partially absorbed into the later medieval church.

Lunette of the Portal with Marble Sculptures
The marble lunette above the ogival portal of Corniglia's church façade is a striking sculptural feature, flanked by delicate marble columns. Three figures carved in white marble occupy this space, representing one of the finest decorative elements of the 14th-century church front. What to see here is craftsmanship of exceptional quality from the medieval period.
