Audio guide Casa Maestre in English
In this audio guide, Emily Thompson takes you through Casa Maestre telling the story as you walk. In your accent, no need to read signs — just let your eyes take in what's in front of you.
What you'll hear inside Casa Maestre:
- 1Modernist Façade
Carved stone façade featuring a central curved balcony and a neorococó main entrance, inspired by Gaudí's Casa Calvet.
- 2Wrought Iron Balconies
Balconies featuring decorative wrought iron railings adorned with floral motifs, characteristic elements of Cartagena's Modernist architecture.
- 3Original Staircase
An interior staircase of wrought iron featuring a decorative handrail, one of the few original elements that remain intact.
- 4Stained Glass Skylights
Art Nouveau stained glass windows featuring floral motifs that cast images of lilies and poppies across the vestibule.
- 5First Floor Hall
The only interior room preserved after the building was emptied, a testament to the original decoration of the house.
- 6Mosaic Vestibule
Main entrance featuring mosaic floors that reflect the coloured figures from the stained glass windows above.
